# Can I set up a free subscription, that does not require any credit card information?

Unfortunately no. Due to how Shopify works, if a customer wishes to complete a subscription purchase on the platform, they would need to enter their credit card information on the checkout page. The customer must always get charged, even if the amount they get charged for is $0.00.
