# Does your app support the FTC’s new “Click-to-Cancel” rule?

**Yes** — our app follows the customer experience outlined in the FTC’s proposed 'Click-to-Cancel' rule guidance. While we’re not making a legal claim of compliance, our cancellation flow is designed to reflect the example customer experience described by the FTC. **We recommend that you also check with your legal advisor, to make sure that the cancellation flow in your shop is compliant with local laws and regulations.**

Here’s an example of how the cancellation proces is expected to work:

**Step 1**: Customers are able to access their account

- After logging in, users can easily navigate to the “Account” or “Subscriptions” section.
- There, they’ll find a clearly labeled “Manage Subscription” option — not buried in fine print or hidden menus.

**Step 2**: Customers are able to clearly see a Manage Your Subscription option

- Clicking “Manage Subscription” takes users to a straightforward page that includes:
    - Current subscription plan details
    - Billing information
    - A clearly visible “Cancel Subscription” button

**Step 3**: Confirm Cancellation

- When a user clicks “Cancel Subscription”, they’re taken to a confirmation screen asking:
“Are you sure you want to cancel?”
- Users can confirm by clicking “Yes, cancel my subscription.”
We may include one optional message like:
“Would you prefer to pause instead?”— but users can proceed without any forced interaction.

**Step 4**: Cancellation Confirmed

- After confirmation, it is clearly indicated to the user that their subscription has been canceled:
  “Your subscription has been canceled.”
- We also send a confirmation email including:
    - The date of cancellation
    - Any final billing information (if applicable)
    - An optional link to re-subscribe

Here is the **Seal Subscriptions** example of how cancellations are processed:

**Step 1**: Access to customer account

- After logging in, users can easily navigate to the “Account” or “Profile” section.
- There, they’ll find a clearly labeled “Subscriptions” button

**Step 2**: Manage Subscription

- Clicking “Subscriptions” takes users to a straightforward page that includes:
    - Current subscriptions and their details
        - status
        - renewal interval
        - price
        - date of creation
- Clicking on specific subscriptions takes users to the customer portal for the subscription that includes:
    - Subscription plan information
    - Billing information
    - Billing schedule
    - Shipping information
    - Products information
    - A clearly visible “Cancel Subscription” button

**Step 3**: Confirm Cancellation

- When a user clicks “Cancel Subscription”, a cancellation confirmation popup is asking:
“Cancel” or “Wait, I changed my mind!”
- Users can confirm by clicking “Cancel”
We also include an additional option:
  “Reason of cancellation”

**Step 4**: Cancellation Confirmed

- After confirmation, the status of the subscriptions is changed to cancelled and instead of the cancel button a reactivation button gets displayed
- We also send a confirmation email including:
    - Which subscription of the customer was cancelled
    - Products to which the customer was subscribed to
    - Button to view the subscription where they can reactivate the subscription
